Company Description First Responders Wellness Center (FRWC) is a specialized behavioral health resource dedicated to supporting first responders, their departments, and veterans. The center focuses on strategic therapy and intervention for law enforcement, fire service, EMS/EMT, ER staff, and other public safety professionals. FRWC offers evidence-based, practical, and action-oriented therapies, including EMDR, exposure therapy, neurofeedback, and cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition to counseling and crisis intervention, FRWC provides psychological testing for police and public safety personnel, such as pre-employment selection, special duty evaluations, and fitness-for-duty assessments. The organization is committed to helping first responders manage the unique stressors and trauma associated with their roles. Role Description The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will provide direct clinical services to first responders and veterans, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and ongoing treatment planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychosocial assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation, participating in group condultation weekly. The social worker will educate clients and departments on mental health resources, resilience, and wellness strategies tailored to first responders. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Chicago Area. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Social Work practice, including assessment, intervention, and advocacy skills. Experience or training in Medical Social Work, particularly in emergency, trauma, or public safety-related settings. Strong Case Management abilities, including care coordination, resource linkage, and follow-up for complex client needs. Background in Mental Health services, such as individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care. Knowledge of Behavioral Health principles, including evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, EMDR) and co-occurring disorders. Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain licensure within a defined timeframe). Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution. Experience working with first responders, veterans, or high-stress occupational groups is highly beneficial. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, handle confidential information, and work effectively with a diverse population.
