Research Coordinator II - Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases (Bilingual)

We are hiring a Research Coordinator II to join UTHealth McGovern Medical School, Department of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases in Houston, TX 77030. In this role, you will provide day‑to‑day project coordination for research studies, including industry‑sponsored clinical trials and investigator‑initiated studies. Clinical research responsibilities include participant screening, enrollment, consenting, visit conduct and scheduling; coordination and collaboration with multiple team members and faculty; AE/SAE reporting; and writing research notes and searching through EMR. Position Summary Under general supervision, the Research Coordinator II assists with human‑subject research project conduct and management, including participant recruitment, data collection, entry, management, and analysis. Supports research project logistics, maintaining records, preparing reports, and meeting research milestones and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Assist with human subjects research activities, including participant recruitment, informed consent, data collection through surveys, interviews, and observations, and ensuring that activities are conducted according to study protocols. Maintain confidential records of collected data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of data. Supports Data Management Sharing (DMS) plan. Prepare annual progress reports and applications for various committees and ensure staff have received appropriate training. Assist in the preparation of progress and annual reports, contracts, and grant proposals to various funding agencies; collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Projects on grant submissions. May assist with regulatory submissions, such as Institutional Review Board(s) and FDA. Assist investigators with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including statistical tests and the creation of figures, tables, and graphs. Help prepare research papers, presentations, and reports, including manuscripts for publications and conferences. Assist with budget preparation and review of re‑budgeting needs and expenditures. Attend research‑planning meetings to provide budget drafts for departmental leadership approval. Assist with invoicing. Coordinate and respond to site monitoring visits, audits, and inspections. May manage study materials, such as test kits, investigational drugs, and devices. May provide administrative direction, training, and guidance to study personnel within the department. Perform other duties as assigned. Certification & Skills Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred). Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (preferred). Medical, therapeutic clinical trial, or similar experience (preferred). Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Experience beyond the minimum education can replace the requirement as appropriate. Minimum Experience Two years of relevant experience. Experience beyond the minimum education requirement can substitute for the required experience. Physical Requirements May require occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and may involve a negligible amount of constant force to move objects. Security Sensitive Position is security‑sensitive pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094 and 117.001(2). Requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code. May involve access to or handling of information that could affect critical infrastructure. Security review may include assessment of criminal history and potential foreign adversary connections. Compliance with Texas Government Code 791.4 is required. Residency Requirement Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
