Work Environment

In this remote role, you will be part of a dynamic team working collaboratively to improve mental health outcomes for our clients. While our primary facility operates as an outpatient office, the remote setting allows for flexibility while maintaining a strong connection with teammates. You will have the tools necessary for effective service delivery, including access to telehealth systems and communication platforms to facilitate client interaction and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting intake assessments and actively engaging with clients to develop person-centered treatment plans focused on recovery.
  • Delivering clinical services that include individual therapy sessions, group therapy, and crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Assessing clients’ ongoing treatment needs regularly and adjusting care plans as needed to reflect their progression and challenges.
  • Developing and monitoring individual service plans in collaboration with clients to help them build coping skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication techniques.
  • Connecting clients with community resources and acting as an advocate to help them access these services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population of adults aged 18 and older, many of whom may struggle with severe and persistent mental health conditions. Understanding their unique needs and challenges is crucial for fostering a trusting relationship and ensuring effective treatment outcomes. Our approach respects clients' experiences, allowing them to voice their concerns actively and participate in their care decisions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • A current license to practice in New Jersey, such as: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD) .
  • The ability to operate independently without supervision while maintaining compliance with ethical standards and state regulations.
  • No disciplinary actions on your license history, reflecting your professional integrity.

Preferred Experience

We value experience that enhances our counseling team, including:

  • Direct clinical service experience with a background in outpatient mental health care.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and treatment plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor essential for building rapport with clients.
  • A good understanding of telehealth practices and the technical skills to deliver services effectively in a virtual setting.
