This Temporary Litigation Paralegal role supports the Trial and Litigation Group in a downtown Los Angeles firm, focusing on complex crisis litigation such as constitutional law, wildfire, COVID-19, civil rights, First Amendment, takings, and class actions, including Eminent Domain. The position involves managing case files, drafting and reviewing legal documents, overseeing discovery and document production, and preparing for depositions and hearings with exhibit management and witness outlines. Paralegals assist with cite-checking briefs, document review, and coordinating with the Litigation Support Group for database management using platforms like iPro.

Candidates must be able to work and bill as a paralegal under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code section 6450, hold a bachelor's degree, and have at least five years of recent litigation experience within a California law firm or in-house legal department. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel's advanced functions, and experience with eDiscovery platforms and Adobe Acrobat Pro are essential. Strong legal research skills, preferably with Westlaw or Lexis, and knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and local rules are required. The role demands the ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are also necessary.
