What You'll Do

• Provide compassionate emergency care to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics to geriatrics
• Manage a patient load of approximately 3-4 patients per RN, with 2 ED Techs per shift
• Perform advanced procedures including IV starts, NGT insertion, chest tube management, defibrillation, and stroke assessment
• Support patient stabilization and rapid response in a high-volume ED environment
• Utilize EMR systems for accurate charting and proper documentation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, paramedics, and radiology staff
• Conduct EKG competencies and manage ICU-level medication drips and protocols

What You Need
Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum of 2 years emergency department experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, CPI or MOAB certifications
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam
• Strong skills in IV starts, chest tube management, defibrillation, and stroke assessment

Preferred:

• TNCC certification
• Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR
• Ability to work nights and adapt to flexible scheduling
