Job Summary:Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive, high quality dental care to patients, both preventive and restorative care. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with staff, patients, families and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.Job Responsibilities:Demonstrate ability to provide general dental care activitiesUnderstand the goals and objectives of the Corporation as set out in the By-Laws and Policy and Procedure ManualsMaintain case histories, examination reports, and other medical records in the approved formatAssess, diagnose and treat dental problems of SeMRHI patientsDevelop and document appropriate plan for the management of problems identifiedPromote preventive care and health lifestyles for all patient lifecyclesSupervise the dental assistant effectivelyAssist in the development and implementation of the dental care planProvide root canal therapy and crowns to patients under 18 years of ageProvide periodontal treatment that can be done without surgeryCoordinate services with other Center providers, local specialists and community resourcesRemains accountable to the Chief Executive Officer regarding the Daily operations of the dental clinicFollow established health care standards and protocols for each dental service and programEnsure confidentiality of patient information and recordsParticipates actively in Performance Improvement activitiesMaintains complete, up-to-date and accurate problem oriented medical recordsComplies with credentialing and other administrative requirements necessary for meeting regulatory standardsDemonstrates positive personal attributes such as honesty, integrity and professionalism in all aspects of the jobWorks to ensure the productivity and effectiveness of the dental staff, in terms of utilization and patient satisfactionAttends classes, workshops and seminars as appropriate to maintain clinical competency and stay informed of changes in community healthMaintains prompt and regular attendanceVerify timecard at the end of each pay period.Performs related work, as assignedCompletes the required IT/Security trainings prior to the deadlineJob Requirements:Graduate from an approved School of Dentistry, with a doctoral degree (DDS or DMD)Valid Mississippi dental license with unrestricted privileges under the Controlled Substances statues of the Drug Enforcement AgencyAt least 3 years’ experience in providing dental care in a community health or related settingValid Mississippi Dental LicenseCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart AssociationAbility to continuously use sound analytical thinking in providing patient careAbility to reason in the practice of DentistryMust have excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to deal effectively with patient and staff emergenciesPhysical and Other Requirements:Continuously listen, visualize, have dexterity and eye-hand coordination, and provide emotional support to patients and their familiesMust have full range of body motionMust frequently sit, squat, reach, use both right and left forearms for rotation and walkMust occasionally kneel, twist, have ability to grasp firmly, lift and carry, push and pull in excess of 10 lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
