Inpatient Therapist PRN

Overview Norman Regional Health System and Oceans Healthcare have partnered to expand access to behavioral health services in south central Oklahoma through construction of a new, state‑of‑the‑art behavioral hospital. The Behavioral Health Center at Porter Health Village is a 48‑bed facility that will more than double Norman Regional Health System’s inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients and add new services, including an intensive outpatient program and a dedicated geriatric behavioral health unit. The freestanding hospital will be located on the Norman Regional Porter campus and replace the existing 20‑bed behavioral health unit. Values Dignity Comprehensive Care Quality Integrity Advocacy Teamwork Essential Functions Provide direct clinical services in accordance with accepted standards of social/work clinical practice. Plan and conduct individual family and/or group therapy as assigned by the Director of Social Services or physician's order. Conduct, assess and interpret completion of Comprehensive Integrated Assessment. Review all Multidisciplinary assessments and compile a Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan under the supervision of the attending physician. Perform case management and discharge planning as assigned by the Director of Social Services. Attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, provide updates on assigned patients and their progress toward treatment goals; combine the reports of all disciplines into a multidisciplinary treatment integration summary, facilitating the patient's progress toward treatment plan goals. Deliver patient services in an ethical manner that promotes respect for the patient and enhances the patient's dignity and satisfaction; demonstrate the ability to assess and interpret a patient's response to treatment in an age, disability, culturally sensitive manner. Assess and interpret age, disability, cultural needs; identify safety, psychosocial, special mobility and special equipment needs; and communicate in a culturally sensitive manner to patients and their families. Conduct treatment and discharge planning in accordance with age, disability, cultural needs and involve members of the patient's support system in decision‑making as appropriate. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Requirements Educational / Experience Requirements: At a minimum a Clinical Social Worker (CSW), LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LPC-A (TX Only) or Psychologist. 0 to 1 year post‑graduate experience in clinical practice. Qualifications / Skills Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age, disability, or cultural needs of the patients served on assignment. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served. Assess and interpret data about the patient’s status to identify each patient’s needs and provide appropriate care, including age‑related care, disability, and culture‑sensitive care to adolescent, chronically mentally ill, adult, geriatric, chemically dependent, and dually diagnosed populations. Possess in‑depth knowledge of mental illness and chemical dependency and the family dynamics that accompany them. Have basic knowledge of chronic mental illness. Have in‑depth knowledge of clinical therapy modalities. Have excellent communication and group/process skills as related to age‑specific patient needs. Can demonstrate assessment, intervention, treatment and discharge planning skills. Can pass the general age/disability post‑test. Versatile, flexible, and able to perform in stressful situations. Have good time and organizational skills. Capable of coordinating multi‑faceted workload. Can work with an array of mental/physical disabled persons. Successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral de‑escalation program. Working Environment Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
