McGuireWoods is seeking an experienced Events Manager to join our collaborative marketing team and lead the end-to-end strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of a robust portfolio of high-impact firm events. In this role, you'll take full ownership of a wide variety of events, from concept to completion. Working closely with attorneys, business development, communications, and marketing technology teams, you will ensure every event reflects the highest standard of professionalism, delivers brand excellence, and directly supports the firm's broader business development and client engagement goals.

While this role does not directly manage direct reports, you will serve as a senior-level project leader - mentoring and ensuring seamless execution with high autonomy and sharp attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a dynamic calendar of events annually, taking full ownership of project life cycles.
• Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, vendor negotiations, contract management, food and beverage service, and on-site execution.
• Manage the review and production of event communications and collateral with immaculate attention to detail, ensuring complete accuracy across dates, messaging, and target audience standards before public release.
• Oversee event budgets to ensure cost efficiency and ROI. Utilize internal systems to track attendance, measure event impact, and drive data-backed decisions for future strategies.
• Work hand-in-hand with Business Development, Marketing, and Communications teams. Delegate tasks effectively to supporting team members while mentoring and providing guidance on event best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in event management, brand partnerships, or event marketing. Experience within professional services or a law firm environment is strongly preferred.
• A self-motivated mindset with a proven track record of managing large-scale events and complex projects independently.
• High precision in administrative tasks, written communications, date verification, and content formatting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in budget creation, financial tracking, and leveraging event management software or CRM systems for reporting and ROI analysis.
• Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a high sense of professionalism suited for engaging attorneys, corporate leadership, sponsors, and key clients.
• Interest in using innovative AI technology, including Harvey and Copilot, to support efficient high-impact work.
