Medical Assistant

The Emergency Department (ER) Tech - Medical Assistant supports clinical staff in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting. This role involves assisting with patient assessments, performing routine clinical tasks, and facilitating efficient patient flow. Strong communication and collaboration with healthcare providers and patients are essential to ensure effective emergency care delivery. Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient assessments and clinical procedures in the emergency department.
• Perform routine tasks such as vital signs monitoring, specimen collection, and basic patient care.
• Support patient transport and preparation for diagnostic testing or treatment.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of clinical equipment and patient areas.
• Document patient information accurately and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth patient flow and care coordination.

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical or emergency care setting.
• Basic clinical skills including patient assessment and specimen collection.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Active certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent clinical credential preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Experience working in emergency department or acute care settings.
• Familiarity with emergency medical equipment and procedures.
• Additional certifications related to emergency or trauma care.

• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic emergency environment.
• May be required to work on-call shifts or extended hours based on department needs.
• Compliance with emergency department protocols and safety standards.

• Shift work including day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
• Flexible scheduling to meet emergency department operational demands.
