Job Description
We are seeking to hire a full-time barista for our coffee bar in our bookstore located in downtown Gilbert, AZ! This will be a romance-focused bookstore, so knowledge and experience in coffee are essential. The hours would range from 30-35 hours a week, and open availability would be ideal.
Responsibilities
- Serve drinks : Present drinks to customers
- Clean : Clean and sanitize work areas, seating areas, and equipment
- Maintain standards : Follow food safety standards and brand standards
- Ensure stock : Ensure the cafe has enough stock to meet demand
- Notify staff : Let the kitchen staff or operations manager know if there's a shortage
- Take orders : Greet customers, take orders, and complete transactions
- Make drinks : Prepare coffee, tea, and specialty drinks using a coffee machine, blender, and other kitchen equipment
Skills
- Espresso knowledge: know how to use an espresso machine, steamer, etc., and know how to make drinks.
- Communication : Have good verbal communication skills
- Cash handling : Be able to operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash
- Teamwork : Be adaptable and work well with others
