Job Posting End Date05-10-2026Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date.Job Summary Support Business Unit (BU) in achieving and maintaining audit readiness by ensuring alignment with applicable NERC Standards. Drive consistent, effective and proactive compliance efforts by partnering with BU compliance teams and tailoring support based on each BU’s compliance maturity. Perform audit readiness activities directly when needed and serve as a trusted advisor through deep expertise in NERC Standards. Act as the single point of contact for ENRA compliance services on an assigned standard basis. Execute established compliance processes with minimal supervision and maintain accurate, up to date process documentation.Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:Potential Compliance Incident Investigation:Identify root cause and establish facts of incidentIdentify impact and riskDraft language for regulator reviewMitigation Plan Support:Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop effective mitigation activities Draft language for regulator reviewDevelop milestones, including preventive effortsTrack progress of approved plan and review evidence of completionStandard Implementation:Work with impacted BUs to create and execute an implementation plan for new and revised standards to ensure readiness prior to the Standard’s effective dateRSAW Development and Review:Support business unit compliance teams to review and/or develop narrative of complianceGap Analysis and Controls:Assess and provide feedback to compliance SMEs on the ability of BU processes to fulfill compliance requirementsIdentify failure points relating to compliance requirementsIdentify process improvements and/or controls as needed to reduce the risk of failure pointsDevelop, deploy and maintain level two controls, as neededEvidence Pull Sheet Support:Support BU compliance experts to define evidence of complianceSupport instructions to pull and review evidence on demand Request for Information (RFI) responsesCollect SME responses to regulator RFIsExecute other tasks and projects, as assigned, which may include creating presentations, delivering training and supporting BUs during audit engagements.What We’re Looking For:Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, communications, computer science, business, or related field of study; or Associate's degree in one of the aforementioned fields of study and two (2) years of relevant work experience.Experience: In addition to any experience required above, five (5) years of experience in electric utility or similarly regulated industry.Preferred Qualifications:Developing expertise on NERC StandardsAbility to manage risk and/or NERC Standards owned by more than one business unitUnderstand Regional Entity positions and risk view of NERC StandardsProven ability to gain agreement with stakeholders for risk mitigation and process improvement opportunitiesWhat You'll Get:At AEP, we’re more than just an energy company!We’re a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
