Tax Technology Business Manager

Audit and assurance services are provided by Elliott Davis, LLC (doing business in NC and D.C. as Elliott Davis, PLLC), a licensed CPA firm.Position Overview:The Tax Technology Business Manager partners with the Tax Operations Leader, IT, and Tax professionals to drive operational excellence across the practice. This role serves as a bridge between business strategy and technology execution and is responsible for identifying inefficiencies, recommending solutions, implementing technology, automating manual processes, and supporting the adoption of innovative tools that enhance quality, increase efficiency, utilization, and improve team member experience.The ideal candidate combines process improvement expertise, strong practice line knowledge, strong execution skills, and a passion for technology with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and drive organizational change. Success in this role is measured by business outcomes, technology adoption, operational improvements, and value realization.Responsibilities:Technology Strategy & Process ImprovementCollaborate with operational leader on Tax technology initiatives and maintain the Tax technology roadmap.Support the intake and portfolio process to identify, prioritize, and advocate for technology investments that support business objectives.Translate business needs into actionable technology initiatives via business cases.Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve Consulting operational processes.Drive standard operating procedures and process documentation, including visual workflows.Technology AdoptionDrive adoption of practice technologies.Measure and communicate utilization, business outcomes, and value realization from technology investments.Engage in all phases of technology and process implementation, including post-implementation support.Change Management & TrainingLead change management efforts for new processes and technology implementations.Develop training materials and user adoption programs.Conduct workshops and training sessions for Consulting professionals and support teams.Vendor & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary operational liaison between Consulting Operations Leader, IT, and external vendors.Build relationships with key stakeholders to understand operational challenges and prioritize improvement initiatives.Lead technology pilot programs by coordinating testing, measuring business impact, gathering stakeholder feedback, and developing recommendations for implementation and broader adoption.Coordinate with external vendors on product enhancements and implementation initiatives.Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role and practice.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, information systems, technology, or a related field requiredMinimum of three years’ experience in a public accounting environment, at least one of which has been spent at Elliott DavisManager preferredStrong understanding of practice lineFundamental knowledge of technologyUnderstanding of project management methodologies and change management strategiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesStrong ability to lead cross-functional initiatives through influence, collaboration, and relationship building#LI-EG1#LI-HYBRIDWHY YOU SHOULD JOIN USWe believe that when our employees are able to thrive in all facets of life, their work and impact are that much greater.That's right – all aspects of life, not just your life as an employee, because we understand that there's life beyond your job.
