Mordaunt Roundy Reihl & Jimerson is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal to join our team in Stockton, CA. Responsibilities:

• Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
• Track deadlines, statutes of limitations, and litigation calendars
• Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, and client appointments
• File legal documents with courts (state and federal)
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and client meetings
• Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel on case matters
• Maintain and organize case files, legal records, and client databases
• Answer and direct phone calls, greet clients, and handle general office communications
• Coordinate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel on case-related matters
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, research, and document management
• Review records and summarize findings to support attorneys
• Medical record chronologies

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant or paralegal preferred
• Paralegal certificate from an ASA-approved program is a plus
• Proficiency in legal terminology, court procedures, and document formatting
• Strong typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Familiarity with California court e-filing systems is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, discreet, and client-focused demeanor
