This position involves managing transportation assets effectively, and driving continuous improvement through collaboration and teamwork across the supply chain and is ideal for someone who is organized, analytical, and has a commitment to continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordination and Management: Supervise and coordinate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers.Schedule daily routes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to time requirements.Oversee scheduling of driver routes, vacation coverage, and truck maintenance.Supervise the loading of products onto trailers or trucks.Manage the preparation of delivery documents.Coordinate pick-ups with purchasing department.Develop and manage budgets for transportation department.Address transportation-related inquiries and resolve complaints.Optimization and Improvement: Assist in daily route sequencing for optimal delivery efficiency.Support the development of incentive and safe driving programs for drivers.Recommend route changes to enhance profitability.Assist in implementing cross-training programs for drivers.Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.What You Bring To Pacific SeafoodRequired:High school diploma or GED.Minimum two years of supervisory experience in transportation.Minimum two years of experience in fleet management, routing, and safety compliance.Valid driver's license.Knowledge of DOT compliance and audit procedures. Preferred: Associate degree in a related field.Valid commercial driver's license (CDL).Forklift certification. Physical Requirements Sedentary work, walking and standing are required only occasionally.Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
