Overview

Our organization is on the lookout for a skilled Ocular Oncologist to join the Dean McGee Eye Institute (DMEI) and the Dean McGee Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. This role offers the chance to engage in a practice characterized by a significant clinical and surgical workload, exceptional opportunities for both clinical and basic science research, involvement in a distinguished residency program, and access to cutting-edge facilities, including an ambulatory surgery center owned by DMEI.

The Institute accommodates over 200,000 patient visits each year within its expansive 150,000 square-foot facility located in downtown Oklahoma City, along with four additional satellite locations. The Department is home to numerous NIH-funded researchers eager to collaborate on translational research projects. A dedicated Clinical Trials Unit is also available. Many faculty members hold prominent national leadership roles, and the compensation package is highly competitive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish a practice focused on a diverse range of neoplastic and masquerade conditions affecting both adults and children.

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmology services or practice in another subspecialty based on fellowship training.

• Foster collaborative growth among current partners, residents, fellows, subspecialists, and support staff.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in ophthalmology (or equivalent).

• Completion of an AUPO-compliant fellowship (or equivalent) in ocular oncology.

• Eligibility for medical licensure in Oklahoma.

• Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

• Experience in managing ocular, orbital, and adnexal diseases, both independently and in collaboration with multi-subspecialty teams, including neurosurgery, otorhinolaryngology, plastic surgery, oral maxillofacial surgery, and medical/surgical/radiation oncology, is preferred.
