Orbital Tube WelderAs an Orbital Tube Welder at Impulse, you will be responsible for the precision assembly, welding, inspection and documentation of high-reliability orbital welds used in space flight hardware. This role is hands-on, detail-oriented and critical to delivering flight-worthy hardware on aggressive timelines.ResponsibilitiesFollow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and procedures for flight and development hardwareSetup, maintain and operate the orbital welding system to produce high quality orbital weldsDocument build steps, nonconformances, and test results in manufacturing and quality systemsMaintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardwareWork closely with engineers, quality, and other technicians to resolve issues and improve processesSupport rework, repair, and root-cause investigations as neededMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate1+ year of orbital welding, machining or manufacturing experienceAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T as well as assembly procedures and specificationsProficient with hand tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches)Preferred Skills and ExperienceCertification from a formal orbital weld training program5+ years of orbital welding experience using Orbitalum or similar OTW equipmentTIG welding experience in an aerospace manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with welding stainless steel, Inconel and titanium tubingFamiliarity developing weld schedules and able to weld parameters based on welding defectsCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
