Sr Director, Quality Control

Senior Director of Quality Control at Gilead Sciences overseeing all QC functions across analytical, microbiology, and stability programs for small molecule and biologics platforms. The role combines strategic operations, technical capability development, and people leadership to ensure GMP compliance and support commercial manufacturing at the La Verne site.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all site QC functions including analytical, microbiology, and stability programs
- Define and execute site QC strategy aligned with global quality and business objectives
- Build, develop, and lead high-performing QC organization with focus on technical capability and succession planning
- Drive adoption of Lean Laboratory principles and continuous improvement across QC operations
- Represent QC during regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring compliance and data integrity standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline and 14+ years pharma/biotech experience, or Master's with 12+ years, or PhD with 12+ years
- Significant QC leadership experience in GMP-regulated environment
- Deep expertise in analytical sciences across small molecule and biologics
- Strong knowledge of global GMP regulations, data integrity standards, and regulatory inspection management
- Proven experience building and developing technically capable QC organizations
- Demonstrated ability to drive Lean Laboratory principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Compensation: $221,000–$286,000 base
