Associate Project Manager

Job Summary The Associate Project Manager is the overall manager on a small to medium sized project, ensuring that all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed, and managed in accordance with the company’s requirements, including safety, quality, and financial performance. The role requires efficient management of staffing, materials, financials, customer care, and delivery goals. Responsibilities Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline, and, if necessary, discharge project staff. Manage all human‑resource issues in accordance with company policies and procedures. Provide recommendations for performance ratings, promotions, and pay changes. Act as the senior liaison for operational interface with customer representatives. Plan, monitor, and maintain project profitability to meet company goals. Ensure project deadlines are met per customer requirements. Distribute workload, maintain staffing levels, and monitor installation progress. Ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with the project budget. Review job cost postings for accuracy, prepare invoices, manage collections, and produce financial reports. Complete all required paperwork (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, etc.) accurately and on time. Perform quality checks, prevent outages, conduct daily job walks, and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings. Serve as the main on‑site customer contact for questions and concerns, and attend facility and construction meetings as required. Demonstrate detailed technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly. Review and monitor operational processes for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency, covering estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling, and reporting. Develop, redesign, and implement process improvements as needed. Monitor all quality and safety issues related to the operations department, promoting safety as a priority. Lead operations meetings and training sessions. Manage tools and truck inventory/maintenance. Complete any additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 6+ years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field. Minimum 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience. Minimum 3 years as a Lead Communications Technician or a comparable position. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project) and the ability to define a project scope, create estimates, and manage tasks to completion. Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to develop and implement best practices. High skill level interpreting blueprints, specifications, and quality requirements. Willingness to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed. Physical ability to work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs. Must be able to see and distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. Must meet company minimum driving standards. Must hold the required trade licenses for the specified tools (punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8‑position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4‑pair continuity tester, and 5‑gang punch tool). High school diploma or equivalent required. Commitment to safety as a priority. Pay Range USD $95.00 per year – USD $115.00 per year.
