Assumes responsibility and accountability for performing functions of a specialized clinical nutrition service, such as nutrition assessment/reassessment, nutrition counseling/education, modified diet formulation, performance improvement projects designated per director and Chief Clinical Dietitian and education functions necessary to provide quality nutrition care to patients. Responsible for special projects as assigned. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Assess nutritional status to include potential for dehydration due to reluctance to drink fluids/fear of choking, dysphagia, inappropriate food consistency for assess condition, increased risk of respiratory complications, enteral nutrition needs and provide patient/family education on special diets. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1 hour online training.

Qualifications- Requires Florida State License and AND registration; acute care experience preferred
