Special Education Teacher

Job Title: Special Education Teacher (Special Purpose Preschool) Location: 2625 Portland RD Arundel, ME 04046 Job Description Do you want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young children? Total Care ABA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our Special Purpose Preschool in Arundel, Maine. Our program serves preschool-aged children with autism and developmental disabilities, providing individualized educational and behavioral support in a highly collaborative, therapeutic setting. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing program focused on early intervention and positive outcomes for children and families. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment while working closely with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Provide 1:1 and small group instruction tailored to each child’s needs Collaborate with BCBAs, therapists, and support staff Utilize evidence-based practices, including ABA strategies Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Supervise and support educational technicians and classroom staff Foster a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment Qualifications Maine DOE Certification as a Special Education Teacher (282 or 286), or eligible to obtain certification Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred) Experience working with children with autism and/or developmental disabilities Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills Experience with ABA or willingness to learn Excellent communication and teamwork skills What We Offer Competitive salary (based on experience) Supportive, team-oriented environment Ongoing training and professional development Opportunity to be part of a growing early intervention program Consistent weekday schedule About Total Care ABA Total Care ABA provides high-quality, individualized ABA and educational services to children with autism and developmental disabilities.
