Dona Ana County is offering a Surveyor position with a salary range of $61,209.66 - $101,236.70. The position is located at 845 North Motel Boulevard, Las Cruces, NM. The application process is continuous until the position is filled.

The Surveyor position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Surveying/Geomatics and four years of relevant surveying experience. Preferred skills include experience with computers, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, GIS software, GPS equipment, total station and robotic total stations. Lead experience is also preferred.

Candidates must be licensed as a Professional Surveyor in the State of New Mexico by the NM State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors (NMBLPEPS). They must also have current FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft certification or other department approved certification or license, or the ability to obtain said certification within one year. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record are also required.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Candidates must pass a background and driver's license check.

The Surveyor will conduct complex data gathering using a variety of methods including Global Navigation Satellite System, Lidar, Photogrammetric applications, and Robotic Total Stations. They will be responsible for geospatial data collection, data analysis, quantity estimating, and the compilation of data for legal documents, right-of way mapping, and topographic mapping in support of planning, design, and construction.
