Administrative Patient Services Representative - Cardiology Saint James, MO $32,099 - $42,099 a year Full Time This role serves as the primary point of contact for cardiology clinics, managing communications both by phone and at the front desk with professionalism and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Promptly answer and direct telephone calls. Warmly greet patients and visitors with respect. Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families, keeping them well-informed. Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information into the system. Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding patient information. Schedule appointments following established protocols. Assist patients or guardians with patient portal setup during visits. Make confirmation calls and guide patients to complete registration and paperwork via the patient portal. Demonstrate empathy and respect in all interactions. Take and process messages promptly and accurately. Update patient demographic and other necessary forms at each encounter. Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments at the time of service. Inform patients about their financial responsibilities related to insurance coverage. Work independently, meet commitments, handle change effectively, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience. Experience Preferably two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting. Equivalent customer service experience with similar responsibilities will be considered. Certification/License American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Mental/Physical Requirements Requires considerable mental focus. Physical activities include lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Work is performed in a medical office environment with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
