Woven and Knits Top and Bottoms Technical Designer Onsite: Midtown, NYC Employment Type: Freelance Onsite 4-5 days/week 32-40 hours/week Duration: 2+ months Pay Rate: $40/hr Well-known brand is seeking a detail-oriented Woven and Knits Top and Bottoms Technical Designer for a 60-day freelance assignment. This role will support the development of woven and knit apparel across tops and bottoms, ensuring fit, construction, measurements, and technical specifications align with brand standards and production requirements. Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain development specifications and technical packages for woven and knit tops and bottoms. Develop garment measurements, construction details, grading requirements, and fit standards. Conduct garment fittings and document clear, accurate fit comments for internal teams and vendors. Partner with Design, Product Development, Production, and vendors to resolve fit, construction, and quality issues. Review samples throughout the development process and ensure revisions are reflected in technical documentation. Support timely approvals and communicate priorities to meet development and production deadlines. Qualifications Experience in technical design for woven and knit apparel, including both tops and bottoms. Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, measurements, and production processes. Proficiency creating technical specifications, fit comments, and detailed documentation. Ability to lead fittings, communicate feedback clearly, and manage multiple styles in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
