Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, making a meaningful difference in the lives of students. This full-time role runs from now through June 10 and covers four schools, working with a diverse caseload of 50-60 students across a range of needs. Your expertise will support students’ growth and independence through both individualized and group approaches.

The role involves the delivery of OT services within schools, encompassing both individual and small group sessions, as well as push-in support. Service frequencies will be tailored based on each student’s IEP, ranging from 30-minute sessions once a week to once a month. With a consistent schedule from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to plan collaborative interventions and engage directly with students and their educational teams, experiencing the impact of your work in real time.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and valid Alabama OT certification/license required (documentation necessary)
• Experience providing occupational therapy in a school setting is highly preferred
• Strong skills in individualized assessment, IEP writing, and collaboration
• Excellent communication and adaptability across multiple school environments
• Ability to motivate and encourage student participation and progress

Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted OT interventions in individual, small group, and classroom settings
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement IEP goals
• Maintain detailed documentation for each student per legal and district requirements
• Support classroom adaptations and strategies for improved student success
• Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student progress
