Wrestling Assistant Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION COACH JOB GOAL: The Athletic Coach is responsible for organizing, supervising, and instructing student‑athletes in the assigned sport while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, skill development, and character. The coach supports the district’s educational mission by providing a safe and positive athletic experience for all participants. Reports to: Athletic Director, Principal or Assistant Principal PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and conduct practices, training sessions, and competitions. Teach sport‑specific skills, rules, and strategies. Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsible behavior among student‑athletes. Supervise student‑athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities. Ensure compliance with district policies and rules established by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). Monitor student‑athlete academic eligibility and encourage academic success. Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and administration. Maintain equipment, uniforms, and program records. Model professionalism and positive conduct consistent with district expectations. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Nurture a positive relationship with super‑ordinates, subordinates and peers. Demonstrate respect for super‑ordinates, subordinates and peers. Support corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives. Work as a team player. Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner. Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner. #J-18808-Ljbffr
