Education Program Specialist (EDIS)

Senior Program Specialist
Serves as a senior program specialist providing technical expertise to the Chief, Warfighter and Family Programs.
Monitors legislative updates and assists in identifying potential impacts on Educational and Developmental Intervention Services policy or procedures.
Provides professional guidance on Educational and Developmental Intervention Services program requirements.
Collects and analyzes program data from the Special Needs Program Management Information Systems.
Participates in short and long range planning activities for Educational and Developmental Intervention Services.
Provides technical assistance to Medical Readiness Command Program Managers who oversee Educational and Developmental Intervention Services activities within their regions.
Provides input to Medical Command/Office of the Surgeon General Program Objective Memorandum and Planning, Programming, and Budget Execution System processes.
Participates in meetings and working groups with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Department of Defense Education Activity, and other agencies to discuss policies and programs for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act services.
