Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Work Arrangement: Onsite – Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Relocation Assistance: $25,000–$35,000 flat relocation payment with the first paycheck, depending on family size About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Aircraft Manufacturing Engineer to support aircraft production in Sandpoint, Idaho. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, including significant aerospace and direct aircraft manufacturing experience , along with strong CAD, GD&T, drawing interpretation and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) skills. Key Responsibilities Work directly with aircraft mechanics and production teams to identify and resolve manufacturing and build issues. Improve manufacturing methods, assembly processes, production sequencing, ergonomics, work content and overall production flow. Support fabrication, subassembly and final aircraft assembly improvements. Perform CAD, engineering drawing, GD&T and DFM analysis to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges. Create and modify manufacturing drawings and CAD models to meet fit, form and function requirements. Investigate manufacturing problems using root-cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions. Identify opportunities to reduce labor hours, rework, scrap, production bottlenecks and manufacturing variation. Develop and improve tooling, fixtures and manufacturing methods where appropriate. Manage ERP alignment, manufacturing routings and engineering-to-manufacturing BOM reconciliation. Support eBOM/mBOM alignment and ensure manufacturing documentation accurately reflects production requirements. Partner with design and engineering teams when manufacturing documentation or existing processes do not adequately resolve production issues. Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives across aircraft production. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience. 10+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience preferred. Direct experience supporting aircraft manufacturing and/or aircraft assembly. Strong experience with CAD, engineering drawings, GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production problem-solving. Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action. Experience working directly with production, mechanics, technicians and cross-functional engineering teams. Experience with ERP systems and engineering/manufacturing BOMs. Manufacturing Experience Strong candidates should have practical knowledge of several of the following: Machining Sheet metal fabrication Welding Composite manufacturing Mechanical assembly Electrical/mechanical assembly Tooling and fixtures Production flow and work-content optimization Preferred Qualifications General aviation manufacturing experience. Low-rate, high-mix aerospace manufacturing experience. Experience with AS9100 quality systems. FAA/FAR Part 23 manufacturing exposure. Lean Manufacturing / continuous improvement experience. Experience working with eBOM, mBOM and manufacturing routings. Experience improving aircraft final assembly or subassembly processes. Ideal Candidate The strongest fit will be a senior-level aerospace manufacturing engineer with substantial hands-on aircraft manufacturing experience , strong CAD/GD&T/DFM capabilities, and a demonstrated history of solving production problems, improving manufacturing processes and working effectively with aircraft mechanics and cross-functional engineering teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
