ACT Team Lead Therapist IV
We are seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time Therapist IV supervisory position for a recovery-oriented, evidence-based, community-based program- Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). The team serves adults with serious mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia) or co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use disorders. Services are primarily provided outside the office in the community, at individuals' homes, jails, or wherever the client is located. As the ACT Team Lead, the successful candidate's work will involve clinical supervision, assessment, intervention, risk assessment and monitoring, counseling/ therapy, and treatment of individuals, as well as leading the ACT team, overseeing fidelity, and ensuring the team is adhering to all local, state, and federal guidelines. Schedule includes 1 evening per week and rotating weekends and holidays.
The ACT Therapist IV job responsibilities include providing clinical oversight of case management, therapy services, as well as providing case management activities for highly complex multi-problem cases, including outreach, assessment, linkage to and coordination with other service providers, advocacy, and aftercare treatment alongside crisis intervention for individuals, including those at high risk for suicide or homicide. The ACT Therapist IV will provide services to individuals through assessment, intervention, counseling, therapy and education, and liaison services to community support groups and agencies in developing and implementing individual treatment plans and primary prevention programs. Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Support staff with evaluating for risk and potential need for hospitalization; develop, implement, and monitor crisis management plans
- Providing regular scheduled supervision and ad hoc to clinical supervision for staff
- Providing supervision to senior-level clinical staff, students, volunteers, and other staff
- Providing clinical guidance and feedback to staff with risk assessment and management of situations that have potential for becoming crises.
- Monitoring of services provided by the clinical team through supervision, clinical guidance, and evaluation of clinical staff
- Monitoring records to ensure compliance according to agency policies and procedures, prepares reports, and gives ongoing feedback and education to staff
- Conducting, writing, and reviewing clinical evaluations
- Conducting screening interviews, making initial diagnosis and treatment recommendations
- Conducting and writing clinical evaluations for judicial system, hospitals, residential rehabilitation programs, Department of Social Services, Social Security Administration, etc.
- Coordinating and integrating program components by designing and conducting evaluation of prevention programming within the division and the community
- Providing oversight of evidence-based practices for services that target adults with mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Providing effective treatment to individuals with mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders that result in reduced psychiatric hospitalizations, increase in meaningful daily activities (including employment, PSR, etc.) relapse rates, improved medical health and wellness, improved personal outcomes and stabilization of substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Conducting comprehensive assessments, including ASAM Criteria and WHODAS, including formulating diagnoses
- Developing, implementing, and making recommendations for updating treatment plans to promote progress based on changing needs of the individual
- Ensuring program compliance with maintaining clinical documentation in Electronic Health Record according to agency, Medicaid, MCO and DBHDS licensure policies and procedures through completion of chart audits and the monthly approvals process.
- Providing direct staff support when individuals require crisis intervention services
- Ongoing documentation of services, contacts and attempted contact with individuals, their family and collaterals
- Ongoing collaboration with other programs, departments, professionals, and other stakeholders in the community
- Completing clinical record-keeping, court reports and administrative functions.
- Implementing program, systems, state and federal directives as needed
- Participate in agency committees and other internal stakeholder meetings
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related behavioral science field
- 3 years of experience providing oversight and direct clinical services to adults with complex mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders
- 2 years of professional-level supervisory experience
- Must be licensed in Virginia as an LPC, LCSW, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Special Requirements:
- Candidate must be licensed in Virginia as an LPC, LCSW, or Clinical Psychologist
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must pass DMV record check
- Must pass TB test
- Must pass and maintain First Aid and CPR certification
- Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint-based National Criminal History Record Check
- Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services
Work Schedule:
This full-time position works Monday- Friday 8 am-4 pm; plus one evening shift until 8 pm. Candidate also provides evening facility coverage; weekends and holidays on a rotation schedule
Starting Salary Range: $91,162.50-$121,836.00
