Data Engineer

DescriptionKforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ who is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team. The Data Engineer is a hands-on technical role focused on designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data solutions. This individual will play a key role in advancing modern data engineering, analytics, and cloud-based data platform initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.Responsibilities:* Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that ingest and process data from various structured and unstructured sources* Build and optimize cloud-based data lakes and data platforms with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability* Develop data engineering and analytics solutions using modern cloud technologies and data processing frameworks* Design, develop, and support enterprise data warehouse solutions and dimensional data models* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions* Participate in data architecture discussions, system design, and technical planning activities* Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies* Design and implement Medallion Architecture frameworks (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to support enterprise data initiatives* Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models and maintain associated documentation* Partner with technical and business teams to review data models, ensure data quality, and support governance initiativesRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field* Minimum 5 years of experience in data ingestion, extraction, integration, and transformation* Experience working with cloud-based data and analytics platforms* Strong experience building and optimizing scalable data pipelines* Experience working with modern data warehouse and data lake architectures* Proficiency with SQL and PythonPreferred:* 7+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise data solutions* 7+ years of experience with integration architectures, including APIs, microservices, ETL/ELT frameworks, or related technologies* 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-based data engineering services* Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, content management systems, search technologies, and large-scale data platforms* Experience with JSON, XML, and semi-structured data processing* Experience using modern source control and version management practices (Git/GitHub)* Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization* Experience supporting business intelligence and reporting solutions* Exposure to machine learning and artificial intelligence initiatives* Experience with modern data modeling and data warehouse design tools* Knowledge of Snowflake, DBT, and cloud-native analytics platforms preferred* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountabilityJob TypeContractCompensation69 - $78
