Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree, industrial electrical training, or apprenticeship certification strongly preferred. Equivalent relevant technical and industrial maintenance experience may be considered.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience required. At least 1 year of continuous experience with the same employer is required. Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with PLCs, AC/DC motors, drives, electrical controls, and industrial wiring. Strong mechanical knowledge, including pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, lubrication, and power transmission systems. Ability to troubleshoot complex production equipment and identify root causes of equipment failures. Experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and metalworking equipment. Ability to read tape measures, micrometers, dial indicators, pi tapes, and manometers. Basic computer skills for work order entry and maintenance documentation. Strong mathematical, analytical, and practical problem-solving skills. Corrugated manufacturing or continuous-process manufacturing experience preferred.

Job Duties

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and industrial equipment. Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system failures. Troubleshoot PLCs, AC/DC motors and drives, relays, switches, sensors, transformers, and electrical controls. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation. Install power wiring, conduit, controls, and electrical connections for machinery and production equipment. Repair or replace defective electrical components, circuit boards, motors, wiring, and cables. Diagnose and repair mechanical components, including bearings, power transmission systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulics. Disassemble, inspect, repair, adjust, and reassemble machinery and equipment. Test repaired equipment to verify safe and proper operation. Operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, milling machines, welders, and other metalworking equipment. Complete work orders and document maintenance activities using computer systems. Maintain clean and organized tools, equipment, and work areas. Support plant startup activities and ensure equipment is energized and operating properly. Follow all safety, PPE, and hazardous energy procedures.

Physical Capabilities

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl throughout the workday. Ability to frequently climb ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms and maintain balance while working at heights. Ability to climb in, on, and around industrial machinery to perform maintenance and repairs. Ability to work in confined spaces, tight areas, and awkward positions. Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Ability to push, pull, carry, and position tools, parts, and equipment. Requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for detailed electrical and mechanical repairs. Ability to work around loud machinery, moving equipment, forklift traffic, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles. Ability to work in temperatures ranging from approximately 50°F to 110°F and around high-temperature equipment. Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, face shields, protective gloves and sleeves, bump caps, and steel-toe shoes. Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
