Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit.
• Conduct thorough assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments while responding swiftly to changes in patient conditions.
• Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize care and manage multiple patients effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to create, implement, and assess individualized care plans.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy, wound care, post-operative care, and telemetry or cardiac monitoring as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing care requirements.
• Support safe transitions from hospital to home or other care environments.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and CNAs while maintaining infection control and safety standards.
• Engage in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
