MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST

Job Details Location: West Covina, CA 91791 Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 base + commission per year. Overview As a Merchandising Specialist, you will inventory, store, price, and restock merchandise displays, providing service to retail accounts within an assigned territory. A merchandiser possesses the confidence to influence key decision makers at the store level to increase brand presence. Responsibilities Accountable for the presentation and supply of products in different store locations. Travel to various stores using dependable transportation within the assigned geographical region. Build relationships with store personnel, create impactful displays, and support a positive brand image. Ensure brand programs and promotions are flawlessly executed on time and against company initiatives. Maintain full distribution of existing SKUs; take inventory or examine availability to identify items to be reordered or replenished. Ensure shelves and secondary placements of product(s) are fully stocked, correctly signed, properly faced, and set to schematics; keep shelves clean and free of debris. Implement point‑of‑sale regional programs and identify additional space opportunities for products. Ensure correct product tagging, rotating, and placement of POS materials. Maintain clean product on shelves and displays according to merchandising standards. Request merchandise to the in‑store warehouse based on available space and product on hand. Ensure planogram execution for all brands and/or categories. Support the regional manager with coordination of special projects regarding brand programs in regional chains, customers, or distributors. Demonstrate time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Complete accurate and timely paperwork regarding in‑store activities daily, reporting performance via the StoreCheck app used in the POS department. Audit retail stores regularly to resolve any issues at the store level. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of retail merchandising. English and Spanish language fluency required. Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); able to compile and aggregate basic data or reports. Knowledge of Grocer Supply and/or Distributor software a plus. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels. Physical Demands The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; stand, walk, climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; moderate noise level in the work environment. Capable of driving for extended periods of time. Ability to concentrate in front of a computer for some periods of time. Capable of moving and lifting heavy objects such as cases of products, pallets, displays, etc. Skin may encounter cleansing products, personal safety products such as sanitizing gel, and towelettes. Must wear protective gloves, face masks, and other protective equipment deemed necessary by MXL, by the customers, or by City or State Government. Capable of securely using corrugated cutters, scissors, and other materials or tools needed to execute daily merchandising chores at store level or in warehouse environments. Work Environment Store environment including sales floor, warehouse, or stock room. Moderate to crowded spaces (e.g., sales floors of a typical grocery store).
