Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to labor and delivery patients. This role requires utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and institutional policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment while planning and implementing care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and professional development.
• Delegate patient care priorities according to the education and experience of the available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel involved in patient care.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of prior travel nursing experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, nursery, or Mother/Baby units.
• Ability to float to other units as facility needs arise.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, with PALS (can be obtained within 30 days of start).
• AWHONN certification preferred, which can be completed onsite.
• AHCA required for Florida placements.

Additional Information

• Candidate must have secured housing close to the facility prior to acceptance.
• The position may require floating to other units based on the needs of the facility.
