Job Overview Has primary responsibility for monitoring and measuring products on the manufacturing floor and escalating nonconforming product issues according to Challenge Manufacturing Quality Standards. Performs periodic quality checks, records information in Plex, and performs general utility work to meet the work schedule. What You’ll Do Perform all duties to support daily and weekly production requirements. Inspect and gauge raw or welded parts according to operator checklist to ensure parts are within customer specifications. Verify first‑piece inspection and approval has been completed according to the first‑piece approval process. Support the company’s quality process when internal and external failures result in product containment; follow containment procedure to ensure defects are not shipped. Ensure parts are packed according to packaging instructions to meet customer requirements. Perform daily Layered Process Audits (LPA) to ensure the quality process is followed. Monitor quality alerts to ensure they are valid and followed. Ensure nonconforming processes are adhered to. Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area through housekeeping duties. Cross‑train on various work centers as required. Complete appropriate paperwork and documentation. Meet daily production requirements. Schedule 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Monday–Friday (some weekends required). The position is located at our Northlake, TX plant. Compensation Starting pay: $18.00 per hour + $1.00 shift differential. What You Need To Have Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to stand 8‑10 hours per day and be physically capable of performing essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform duties. Six months of quality experience preferred; one year of manufacturing experience preferred. High standards of performance, thoroughness, accuracy, and reliability; honesty and integrity. Ability to resolve conflict objectively, maintain positive relationships, and use feedback for continuous improvement. Flexibility to move within work areas to support plant flow and meet customer needs. Commitment to focus on benefits of change and approach it constructively. Collaborative team member who shares information and knowledge. Reliable attendance with timely breaks, using time wisely. Knowledge of written and verbal instructions and ability to follow them. Capacity to work up to 12 hours per day, including weekends. Skill in using quality inspection tools, reading job element sheets, and using functional or go/no‑go gauges. PC and keyboard/mouse proficiency. Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds frequently. Willingness to work as a contributing member within a team environment.
