Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for an acute care hospital OR, requiring 2+ years of experience and NBSTSA certification.

Details

Acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds and 9 operating rooms
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45am to 7pm)
Handles cases in General Surgery, Robotics, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gynecology, Eyes, Urology, and ENT
Requires floating between service lines
On-call required, including 4 weekday calls and 1.5 weekends in a 4-week period
Epic EMR preferred for charting

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
BLS certification required
NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted)
Radiation badge required and must be provided by the agency
License required if applicable
Experience in all required specialty areas needed for first-time travelers

Additional Information

Scrubs are provided
Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries
Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
Follow Universal Protocol (time out) procedures during surgical cases
First-time travelers accepted only with experience in all required case types
Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius
Previous MUSC staff (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
All requested time off must be submitted in advance for facility approval
Staff may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November)
