Job Summary As the leader of the health care team, provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrate performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan. Remain flexible to changing systems, and treat co‑workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect. Essential Responsibilities Leadership Uphold policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Serve as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability. Understand scope of practice for self and team; escalates issues as needed. Champion new ideas and lead through change. Utilize communication strategies to achieve intended outcomes. Mentor, orient, and coach others in unit operations and patient care activities. Prioritize, delegate, and supervise work assignments. Collaborate with other departments for problem resolution. Adhere to attendance program and report promptly to assigned area. Nursing Process Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care that reflect assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Ensure plans include multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education. Update plans based on ongoing patient status and evaluation of progress. Ensure care meets standards of practice and effective discharge planning. Verify patient safety (medication rights, falls, pressure ulcer prevention). Ensure optimal pain control, comfort, and address patient anxieties. Educate patients and families on medication purpose, side effects, and administration. Patient Care Experience Practice customer service standards defined by the Service Area and Medical Center. Respond promptly to call lights, alarms, and patient requests. Refer appropriately and facilitate resource utilization. Maintain confidentiality and a clean, orderly environment. Show courtesy, respect, kindness, and compassion to patients and families. Actively listen to needs and ensure comprehension. Team Commitment Be an effective, flexible, cooperative team member. Confront conflict constructively and seek assistance. Accept accountability and constructive criticism. Act as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students. Attend mandatory meetings, in‑services, and participate in professional development. Assess learning needs and aid in developing education plans. Fiscal Responsibility Organize work to minimize overtime. Identify and assist in system improvements. Utilize payroll and non‑payroll resources effectively. Basic Qualifications Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full‑time equivalent Emergency Department experience. Education None specified. License, Certification, Registration Registered Nurse license (California) Basic Life Support Advanced Cardiac Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support Additional Requirements Temporary seasonal position, non‑benefited, commitment of 5 months from date of hire. Notes Required hours: 24 hours per week, part‑time. Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays. Location and Schedule Primary Location: Baldwin Park Medical Offices, California. Schedule: Night shift, 07:00 PM – 07:30 AM, Sunday through Saturday. Work setting: Onsite. Compensation Pay range: $69.95 – $74.15 per hour.
