Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

This role supports high-volume automotive manufacturing by operating production machinery, performing general labor tasks, and assisting with assembly and inspection processes in a fast-paced plant environment. You will work across departments that produce gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE components, contributing to safe, efficient, and high-quality output.

• Operate various production machinery, including stamping machines, press machines, mold machines, compression machines, and other equipment used in gasket, oil seal, and PTFE manufacturing.
• Perform general labor tasks such as sorting, kitting, assembly, and inspection of parts to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and tape measures accurately to support production, setup, and assembly processes.
• Follow established procedures for machine setup, operation, and basic adjustments to support smooth and efficient production runs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in a dusty, dirty, non-climate-controlled environment while adhering to all safety guidelines.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear, and follow all dress code policies while on the production floor.
• Support multiple departments as needed, including gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE, and be prepared to move between tasks based on production demands.
• Work assigned shifts reliably and follow all attendance and call-out procedures, including using the designated phone number provided during orientation.
• Participate in coating and assembly processes within the gaskets department and assist with oven-based operations in oil seals and PTFE as required.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts for defects and report any issues to appropriate personnel to maintain product quality.

• Experience in production or general labor roles in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to operate machinery such as stamping machines, press machines, mold machines, and compression machines.
• Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and tape measures safely and accurately.
• Ability to perform assembly and inspection tasks with attention to detail and quality.
• Capability to work in a dusty, dirty, and non-climate-controlled environment, including areas with ovens and heat.
• Reliability in following attendance and call-out procedures, including using the designated phone number provided during orientation.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required steel-toe footwear and other protective equipment.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced production setting.

• Experience with metal stamping processes and machine setup in a manufacturing environment.
• Background in automotive or industrial production facilities.
• Familiarity with forklift operation (if certified and permitted by facility policies).
• Comfort working overtime when production demands require it, particularly in departments with frequent overtime.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or production documentation.
• Experience working in departments with ovens, coating processes, and assembly lines.

This is a plant-based role in an automotive manufacturing facility divided into three primary departments: gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE. All departments are dirty and non-climate-controlled, and some areas have multiple ovens, creating hot working conditions, particularly in oil seals and PTFE. You work around stamping machines, press machines, mold machines, compression machines, and other production equipment, with exposure to dust and general industrial conditions. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear and allows jeans and plain t-shirts; leggings are not permitted. The facility operates multiple shifts: standard Monday–Friday shifts on 1st (6:55 am–3:00 pm), 2nd (2:55 pm–11:00 pm), and 3rd (10:55 pm–7:00 am); and PTFE department shifts Monday–Thursday with 10-hour schedules (A shift: 6:55 am–5:00 pm, B shift: 4:55 pm–3:00 am). Some departments frequently work overtime. Employees must follow structured attendance and call-out procedures using the phone number provided during orientation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, AL.

The pay range for this position is $20.66 - $21.66/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
