Part-Time Special Education Teacher (SPED) – Muskegon, Michigan

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a part-time, school-based opportunity in Muskegon, MI. This position is available ASAP and will continue through the full school year, with the potential to transition into a full-time role as enrollment grows.

Job Details

• Position: Special Education Teacher (SPED)
• Location: Muskegon, MI
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: Full School Year
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: Part-time, up to 23 hours per week
• Potential: Opportunity to become full-time as student enrollment increases

Caseload & Responsibilities

• Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classroom
• Current caseload of approximately 6 students , with potential for growth throughout the school year
• Lead your own classroom with the support of three classroom assistants
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Deliver specialized instruction based on students' unique learning needs
• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
• Collaborate with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary staff
• Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Work alongside a veteran ECSE teacher who will provide ongoing support and mentorship

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required
• Michigan Early Childhood Special Education endorsement preferred
• Other Michigan Special Education certifications will be considered
• Must meet Highly Qualified requirements under the No Child Left Behind Act
• Emergency or temporary teaching licenses will not be considered
