Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our Public Accounting Firm. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned tax professional with a strong background in Partnership Returns, S-Corps, HNW, and Trusts who is looking to take the next step in their career. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring tax planning and compliance matters, ensuring that our company is in line with all tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the company.
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
• Manage members of a small tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
• Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
• Manage and coordinate tax audits.
• Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
• Prepare all tax papers on a regular basis and handle all information data requests.
• Ensure the company is in compliance with all internal policies and relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Taxation or a relevant field is preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
• Extensive understanding and experience with tax planning, compliance, and reporting for real estate is required.
• Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
• Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong understanding of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
