In this role, you will:Help build a critical part of Schwab’s growth in the Workplace market.Design and build scalable platforms supporting critical workplace applications, like Equity Administration for millions of participants.Drive modernization initiatives, including API and foundational system improvements that enable faster, safer integration and partnershipsImprove platform stability, performance, and resilience to reduce risk and deliver seamless experiences at scaleModernize legacy components to address high risk remediation and compliance while maintaining industry leading standardsLeverage AI to innovate processes and outcomes for maximum efficiency and quality. Be part of a collaborative team where you aren’t an “order taker” but an influencer.What you haveRequired QualificationsLeadership and Management:6+ years of leading and/or managing engineering teams, includes project, resource, and offshore management responsibilities.Ability to identify, recruit, hire, and build high-performing teamsAbility to coach, mentor, and provide direct, timely performance feedbackGood judgment and the ability to handle stressful situations.Broad knowledge of software engineering: languages, frameworks, techniques, industry trends, etc.Proficient managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environmentDeep understanding of SDLC, agile software development methodologies, values, and proceduresAbility to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibilityStrong influencing, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify stakeholders, assess their needs and manage their expectations through effective communicationExcellent verbal and written communication skills (includes ability to compose and deliver technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various levels of technical and non-technical management)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.Technical:10+ years of hands-on software development experience including one or more of the following:REST-based web servicesServer side applications with either Java or C#Javascript frameworks (Angular, React, etc...)SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Postgres, and MongoDB are preferred).Working proficiency with SCM and DevOps tool suites; examples include Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, Harness etc.Participate in engineering practices such as code reviews, service discovery, and environment strategy.Knowledge of logging aggregation tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana or similar toolsSolid understanding of resiliency and disaster recovery solutionsPreferred QualificationsDrives data-based decisions and optimizes performance through strategic insightsDelivers timely updates and effective communication with others involved in a project or effortLeverages deep industry knowledge to drive success while leading high-impact teams, projects, or programsCreates opportunities for others to assume meaningful responsibilitiesIdentifies and resolves challenges with a forward-looking approachCreates and sustains a supportive atmosphere that integrates diverse perspectives into decision-makingDevelops and implements procedures that enhance business effectivenessLeads the collaboration of diverse perspectives to work together as a teamInfluences business unit strategies to optimize resource allocationProactively sets expectations, monitors performance, and offers constructive feedbackVerbally delivers precise, persuasive communication for productive outcomesUpholds high standards of reliability, trust, and subject matter authorityDelivers impactful messages that persuade diverse audiencesEstablishes strategic goals, measures performance, and optimizes outcomesAnalyzes trends to create actionable strategies that align with long-term goalsDrives continuous improvement by raising quality benchmarks and establishing new standards of excellenceKnowledge of cloud computing platform technologies (i.e., AWS, GCP, Azure, PCF)Prior experience in Equity Compensation a plusLearning Opportunities Deepen Product Expertise in workplace financial services and equity administration while supporting platforms used by millions of participants.
