Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in Ocala, FL. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care, providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative management, assisting in surgical procedures, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the vascular surgery team. Key Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, and medical history reviews. Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans. Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging, ECGs). Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound care, drain management, and infection control. Assist in major surgical procedures and perform minor procedures independently. Serve as first assist in the operating room, including surgical closures and intraoperative support. Perform hospital rounds, discharge planning, and coordinate follow-up care. Participate in on-call coverage, including evenings and weekends. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery. Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately in the medical record. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care. Serve as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students and contribute to staff development. Support workflow optimization and protocol development for improved efficiency and safety. Qualifications Education & Experience Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Studies required. Minimum 1 year of experience in vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, or a related surgical specialty. Licensure & Certifications Current Florida ARNP or PA license. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure.
