Receiving Clerk

Shipping ClerkThe Shipping Clerk performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks, verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations.Responsibilities and DutiesUse equipment including forklifts and cranes to move equipment and parts.Unload product correctly using the appropriate handling techniques.Verify the driver, trailer, and bills are all for that specific carrier and location.Review freight with the driver and ensures all customer requirements are followed.Unload the trailer and record data as necessary.Prepare product correctly (labeled, over-packed, palletized, shrink-wrapped, stacked appropriately, etc.Maintain accurate inventory records.Process shipments with FedEx, UPS or other Logistics company.Create Shippers Letter of Instructions, Bill of Lading or other documents as required.Ability to visually verify per job instructions.Ability to read, comprehend, and follow multiple instructions at one time.Actively participate in cross training though out the department to improve and broaden the employee's skill set.Work productively and ensure timely flow of orders through the department.Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity.Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies and in line with company core valuesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications1-3 years prior Shipping and Receiving work experienceAbility to learn and become certified on a forkliftProficient in MS OfficeHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work overtime as needed.Effectively communicate with other employees, departments, and all levels of management.Promote teamwork and foster a great team environment.Computer skills required.Ability to learn new process and procedures.Willingness to adapt to different work situations.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent problem-solving skills.Quality minded.Dependable.Above average attendance record.Strong work ethic.Ability to multitask while being complete and thorough in following documented procedures.Ability to escalate production and downtime issues to get them resolved in a timely fashion.Ability & willingness to adapt to change and exhibit a desire to improve every day.Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Marathon policies and in line with Marathon's core values.Manage time/tasks to ensure completion of assigned projects within specified time frame.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentPhysical capabilities include but are not limited to: frequent walking and standing, occasional twisting, stooping, carrying, handling, pushing, and pulling; climbing, kneeling, and lifting 20-35 lbs. frequently and 26-50 lbs. occasionally.· Majority of time is spent in a manufacturing production environment with some (but not all) climate-controlled areas. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed.· While performing the duties of this job, employees regularly stand and use hands and arms for the duration of their shift.· Employees must regularly lift parts up to 35 pounds.· Must be able to push/pull motors. Bending and stopping to lift items.· Must be able to manipulate large motors, parts, and crates on a regular basis.
