Cook Position at Home of the InnocentsWe're looking for a reliable, motivated Cook to join our team at Home of the Innocents. If you enjoy working as part of a team, take pride in preparing excellent meals, and have a heart for serving others, we encourage you to apply.A Day in the Life As a Cook you will follow recipes, prepare and serve food and ensure that quality food service is always maintained by following established policies and procedures.Shifts AvailableFull time; hours will vary by department needsRotating weekend shifts will be requiredHow This Position Contributes to our MissionEnsure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.Prep and cook meal items as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Director of Food Services.Complete necessary paperwork, forms, data collection, and temperature logs daily.Maintain cleanliness in work areas by adhering to established cleaning schedules, ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored and in good working order.Follow all food safety procedures, including proper handwashing, safe food handling, and proper sanitation.Assist with departmental projects as assigned or required.Skills and QualificationsMust be able to read, write, speak and understand the English.Must have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).Must have the ability to adapt to the needs of the residents, staff, and visitors.High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.Serv-Safe certification is preferred.What You'll Receive as a Valued Member of Home of the InnocentsA trauma-informed environmentComprehensive benefits packageGenerous leave time401(k) with employer matchTraining and certification opportunitiesWho We Are Home of the Innocents is one of Louisville's longest-serving non-profit organizations, approaching 150 years of service to children and families.
