GREENHOUSE MAINTENANCE WORKER

Posting date: Open until filled Facility: Greenhouse - 259 S Russell Ave, home base; work at various locations Location: Aurora, IL Hours: Monday – Friday 6:30am – 3pm. Some weekends and occasional overtime may be necessary. Rate: $15/hour - minimum starting rate Type: Part‑time / Seasonal Benefits: Part‑time benefits Qualifications At least 16 years old with a valid Illinois Driver’s License. Enjoy working outdoors and have a general interest in plants and their care. Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to work in various weather conditions (high heat, humidity, rain, cold, snow, frigid temperatures). Familiarity with hand tools, garden tools, power equipment and other machinery. Physical ability to perform manual labor including prolonged kneeling, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, and standing. Must pass a pre‑employment physical with drug screen. Wearing proper length shorts or pants and work boots required. Duties Perform a wide variety of gardening tasks (planting, weeding, watering, trimming, mulching, pruning) under the direction of the Horticulture and Natural Areas Supervisor. Work independently and as a group. Perform work at greenhouse facility, park district buildings and outdoors at various FVPD sites. Position is at‑will.
