Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Surgical ICU
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts
• Contract: 13 weeks, from December 20, 2026 through March 20, 2027
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts; weekends as assigned
• Unit: Fast-paced, highly acute 18-bed adult cardiac surgical intensive care unit (CSICU)

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse with an active license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of recent cardiac surgical ICU, cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), or comparable critical care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, including assigned weekends
• Strong critical-thinking, patient assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Current professional resume, references, and completion of required clinical skills verification

Cardiac Surgical ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patients.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and initiate timely interventions.
• Manage complex postoperative and critical care needs in a high-acuity cardiac surgical ICU.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response and clinical progress.
• Educate patients and families and support a positive patient experience throughout the care journey.
• Document care accurately and contribute to quality, safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
