Each patient, each family, each and every time.Job Summary:The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.Anticipates the needs of the surgical team.Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.Required Skills:High School diploma or GED requiredComputer skills, requiredCRCST or CSPDT certification preferredMust have 2+ years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.Experience with all types of sterilizers.Knows operating room instrumentation.Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.Understands Sterrad sterilizers.Ability to prepare reports and keep records.Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is requiredAbility to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when neededMust be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
