Facility: Primrose Place: 1115 E Primrose, Springfield, Missouri, United States of America, 65807 Department: 1307 Patient Access Services Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Job Summary The Financial Advisor is responsible for answering questions about billing information and establishing estimates for patients who have a scheduled medical service or procedure. The Financial Advisor works with the patient to establish payment schedules, discuss the financial responsibility and collects prepayments in accordance with CMG policy. The Financial Advisor also monitors overdue accounts, researches accounts and recommends payment plans and works with insurance companies to obtain predetermination or authorization for certain procedures. This position works alongside different departments system wide in order to deliver excellent care and customer service for CoxHealth patients. Key Responsibilities Answer questions about billing information and establish estimates for patients. Work with patients to establish payment schedules, discuss financial responsibility, and collect prepayments per CMG policy. Monitor overdue accounts and research accounts to recommend payment plans. Work with insurance companies to obtain pre-determination or authorization for certain procedures. Collaborate with multiple departments system-wide to deliver excellent care and customer service. Education & Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent (required). Preferred: medical billing experience and claims processing knowledge; familiarity with the insurance industry and collection process. Qualifications & Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams. Self‑starter. Proficient in using computers and computer systems. Ability to multi‑task and have attention to detail. Licensure / Certification / Registration Not applicable.
