Education Dental Assisting Degree Experience 2 to 20+ years Position Description The doctors at Apple Creek OMS practice a complete spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery and facial trauma. The doctors and staff strive to provide excellence in surgical care administered in a friendly and compassionate manner. Responsibilities Prepare surgical areas Take and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure and respiration rate Assist the oral surgeons with general anesthesia and intravenous sedation procedures Transfer surgical instruments during procedures Prepare surgical dressings Perform suctioning to keep the patients mouth dry and clear Monitor intravenous fluids and vital signs during a procedure Sterilize instruments Deliver post-operative care instruction Take and develop dental radiographs Prepare prescriptions Maintain supply inventory Required Skills 1-2+ years of dental assisting experience, preferably oral surgery experience The ability to take direction from the oral surgeon Works quickly, is organized and detail-oriented Must have good manual dexterity Must be able to stand during the work day #J-18808-Ljbffr
