Opus 9 Steakhouse is looking for an experienced, dependable Sauté Cook who enjoys a busy service, knows how to manage volume, and takes pride in keeping the plates coming without sacrificing quality. This is not a slow kitchen. We have a strong volume of business, and we need someone who is comfortable working at a fast pace, staying focused, and keeping their station moving from the first ticket to the last.

As one of Williamsburg's premier steakhouses, Opus 9 is known for premium steaks, fresh seafood, handcrafted dishes, and exceptional service. We're looking for a cook who can handle the pace and consistently deliver the quality our guests expect.

What You'll Do

• Own and operate the sauté station during busy service
• Prepare steaks, seafood, sauces, and other menu items to recipe and quality standards
• Work efficiently through high-volume ticket times
• Keep your station fully prepped, stocked, clean, and ready to go
• Manage multiple tickets while maintaining proper timing and temperatures
• Execute every plate with consistency, accuracy, and attention to presentation
• Stay ahead of prep and anticipate what your station will need
• Communicate clearly with chefs and fellow cooks throughout service
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow all food-safety and sanitation standards
• Help other stations and team members when needed
• Assist with breakdown, cleaning, stocking, and closing duties

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has professional sauté/line-cook experience
• Is comfortable working in a high-volume kitchen
• Likes to be busy and thrives under pressure
• Can move with urgency without becoming careless
• Has strong cooking skills and understands proper timing and temperature
• Can manage multiple tickets and priorities at once
• Takes ownership of their station and stays ahead of the rush
• Is reliable, punctual, and ready to work every shift
• Communicates well and works as part of a team
• Takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and quality
• Has steakhouse or upscale dining experience preferred
• Is available for evenings, weekends, and holidays
