The Senior Structural Designer will be able to evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project.Your ResponsibilitiesIndependently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projectsDevelopment of job specific specifications independently for less complex projectsLead junior engineers in complex projectsWorks with and coordinates with architectural interiors, and other engineering disciplinesIndependently perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change ordersPerform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clientsUnderstanding industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methodsWork within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client serviceNurtures existing client relationships.Assist with development of design standardsYour Capabilities and CredentialsRequisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codesStrong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standardsAbility to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectivelyAbility to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and scheduleStrong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settingsAbility to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thoughtHealthcare experience is preferred, specific knowledge with OSHPD/HCAI is preferredGood driving record and valid driver’s license required.Education and ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of related work and/or an equivalent combination of education and related experienceBachelor’s degree in engineering is required, Master’s degree preferredProfessional Engineering license is required, Structural Engineering license is preferredExperience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
